Cape Meares Lighthouse

Have you ever felt like doing something romantic like going to see a lighthouse for The Light Between Oceans vibes? Because same. And let me tell you, it is worth it.

My friend, Kristen, came out to visit me earlier in the month and we had a whooooole game plan. Kristen and I met in college through Kappa Delta, and after graduation, we literally had only facetime since she was in Arizona and I was in Oregon. Long story short, we had a long weekend together after 4 years of not seeing each other, so we needed to make the most of it.

So here’s the thing. Kristen and I have the same vibe in the sense where we knew we knew we wanted to see allllll the things while still taking pics while still having a DGAF “whatever happens happens” mindset. So with that being said, we scheduled out the entire weekend.

Day 1: Grabbed lunch at Breakside Brewery then went to Multnomah falls. SO gorgeous, and if you are either a tourist visiting, or you have a friend visiting you, this is such a fun thing to go see. Kristen LOVED the waterfall, and the drive is gorgeous as well, so it’s a win win. We proceeded to stop in middle of the road and force my my boyfriend Randy to take pics of us (when no cars were around, obvi) We then ordered pizza and had a nice night in

Day 2: Cape Meares and the beach. So first we drove to Tillamook bright and early. But to be honest, it’s Oregon, so it was early, but by no means bright. The drive is gorgeous and we saw a STUNNING waterfall on the way there. Then once entering Tillamook, we took a wrong turn, which was actually so fun, because for a while, we were driving right along the channel. I’ll attach pics and videos for you to see. Once we got to the lighthouse, there’s a bit of walking, but nothing too wild. But we ended up finding this trail which we THOUGHT took us too the lighthouse, but was just a short half mile loop around this huge tree. I kid you not, this trail was EVERYTHING. It beat the views of the lighthouse in my opinion. Pics and videos don’t do it justice.

From there, we drove up the coast a bit to Cannon Beach to check out the gorgeous haystack rock and have our Twilight moment. We grabbed lunch in their little downtown and it was perfect. The best part however, was checking out Indian beach next. Five minutes up the road by Ecola Park is Indian Beach, and maybe I’m alone in not knowing about it, but I absolutely loved this place, and plan on going back asap. It was a small cove that seemed like the perfect spot for locals and surfers. since is was a bit late and the weather wasn’t too nice, we had the place to ourselves and we all fell in love. Not gonna lie, things got a tad treacherous when the tide came while we were playing on the rocks and I definitely saw my life flash before my eyes, but it was perfect.

Next morning was the basic coffee and bagel before flight vibes, but it was perfect. 10/10 recommend planning a romantic bestie getaway.
